The role: The Colored Girl Beautiful is looking for an Associate Audio Producer who will be integral to the operation and growth of the new podcast, The Colored Girl Beautiful. This person will join a largely virtual production team to edit, mix and master content for episodes and promotional material across social media platforms. 

About The Colored Girl Beautiful: The Colored Girl Beautiful is a narrative podcast exploring the beautiful juxtapositions of black womanhood. In each episode, host Aseloka Smith, will share the story of a black woman searching for balance between strength and vulnerability, friendship and independence, love and ambition, and more.

Location: Baltimore, MD (preferred) or Remote

Compensation: $14/hr - Contractor Position

Commitment: Part time (up to 10 hrs/week); 3 month contract, beginning September.

Key responsibilities & requirements:

• Cut tape (digitally) and help shape mixes for publication
• At least 2 years experience editing and mixing quality audio content under deadline.
• Proficient in audio editing and is familiar with Adobe Audition (Editing in Hindenburg and/or Reaper a plus)
• An eye for detail and a good ear for editing conversations, as well as a strong sense of organization and humor.
• Has an interest in The Colored Girl Beautiful subject matter 
• Strong sense of story
• Is a strong communicator and enjoys working collaboratively
• Takes direction well
